FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 2, 2018

ANAHEIM GARDENWALK WELCOMES CHUCK JONES GALLERY

Pop-Up Retailer To Feature Artwork from All Major Animation Studios, Including Jones’ Own Legendary Creations, from July 16th through September 3rd

ANAHEIM, Calif. – July 2, 2018 – Anaheim GardenWalk, a unique “eatertainment” destination just steps from Southern California’s Disneyland Resort and Anaheim Convention Center (www.anaheimgardenwalk.com), proudly announces the addition of a pop-up Chuck Jones Gallery featuring animations from all of the major animation studios as well as American pop culture favorites from the legendary Chuck Jones himself, a four-time Academy Award-recipient and creator of Warner Bros. characters Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Pepe Le Pew, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.  The temporary gallery will be open from July 16th through September 3rd and will be located on the Main Level in Space 132 across from McCormick & Schmick’s Grille.

“Anaheim GardenWalk is pleased to welcome Chuck Jones Gallery, one of the world’s most notable displays of animation art including the work of famed studios from Warner Bros. to Disney,” says Robin Weeks-Wynne, Senior Director, Marketing and Tourism, Anaheim GardenWalk. “With our Disney-close location, our reputation for distinctive ‘eatertainment’ experiences, and our deep love and appreciation for the arts – including our acclaimed Art-On-The-Walk exhibits – Anaheim GardenWalk provides the perfect venue for an extension of the gallery’s beloved collections.”

“We’re thrilled to be opening a Chuck Jones Gallery pop-up at Anaheim GardenWalk this summer. With its enviable position in the community as a destination for the best in ‘eatertainment’ in north Orange County, its commitment to the arts, and its location close to Disneyland, it was a natural choice for us,” says Scott Dicken, Vice President of Retail for the Chuck Jones Companies. “During our six weeks at Anaheim GardenWalk, our core collection will be on exhibit, but we also plan to feature original artwork from Disney Studios and Star Wars.”

As the most celebrated director in the history of animation, Chuck Jones' masterpieces have taken their rightful place among America's most cherished cinematic treasures. In a career that spanned almost 70 years, Jones made over 250 films, won four Academy Awards, and was nominated for six others. In addition to his work at Warner Bros., Jones also created and directed some of the most popular and critically-acclaimed animated television specials in the history of the medium, including Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Horton Hears A Who, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Mowgli's Brothers and The White Seal.

In 1991, Jones, and his daughter, Linda Jones Clough, founded the Chuck Jones Gallery to showcase Jones’ lifetime of work as well as the work of all the major animation studios. Clough is also credited with helping develop the market for animation art, including the “1 of 1” which pairs an original production drawing with a hand-painted cel art edition. Chuck Jones died in February 2002 at the age of 89, but he leaves a legacy of brilliance, comedy, joy, color, and laughter that will live on forever.
